5FM Biggest Cleanup – Sea Point

Awesome to be part of this beach cleanup on Saturday. Thanks to Zoe Trisha Prinsloo from Bothasig Girl Guides and Rangers, Joshua, Tanya Prinsloo and ALL volunteers for coming out today! We had children from across the city, Mom’s needing a time out, a tourist from Pretoria and many more. Well done and Thank you. We picked up about 30 full bags. Our beach had tiny pieces of plastic, hundreds of straws and bottle caps. We removed every piece we could find! What we did notice was people at the pool who’s litter was not placed in a bin immediately. Please take care out there while enjoying our beautiful city. What you don’t put in a bin lands up in the sea, especially here. Sea Point hasn’t been this clean in a while  – Let’s all work together to keep it this way! #leaveonlyfootprints #loveyourbeach #loveyourcommunity Cape Town Beach Cleanup

Thanks to 5FM – in particular Kim Schulze and her team 🙂 The moral of the story folks – balloons are beautiful. They are not to be released. Let’s stop this practice today 🙂#makethechange #bethechange

Thanks Gregory Player and all organisers for the opportunity to be part of it all 🙂

A song for every person there today! #beautifulpeople #beautifulcapetown

PACT – Passionate About Cape Town

For me, when I was a kid, volunteering was the last thing I was thinking about. When I see kids doing it now, it amazes me. It’s very impressive, it gives them something productive to do as opposed to getting in trouble. For them to take time out at such a young age is remarkable. I think all kids should take a little time out to volunteer. – Derek Jeter

Well done Zoe, Grade 9 learner from EHS and a Ranger with Bothasig Girl Guides and Rangers!
