Cape Town Beach Cleanup – Big Bay

This past Saturday Cape Town Beach Cleanup hosted monthly beach cleanup’s across the city. I was once again at Big Bay and thanks to support from the local community – we had about 50 people attend.

We had the ACDP join again (14 months in a row!) – this time there were about 12 of their supporters from the greater Table View area and 4 from Du Noon.
For information please contact the group organiser Kelly Lee Rau.

The 1st Blaauwberg Sea Scout Group came for the 2nd time! Thank you boys and girls for joining – good to see you all again 🙂 Thank you Janine for organising!

We also welcomed the Turtles class (age 3-6) from newly establishedGeneration Schools in Sunningdale – parents, teachers and children all joined together for a beach cleanup followed by a class picnic on the lawn. A great day out for all involved. Thank you Nicole McNulty for organising 🙂

In addition to these groups there were a number of parents, grandparents who came out with their children. My sister, little nephew and father included.

Thank you ALL for making the effort to come out and help maintain this beautiful beach on World Environment Day (UN) weekend (5 June).
Your support is appreciated!

The next beach cleanup at Big Bay will take place on 2 July 2016 at 10am.
